Dear Carver Scott Humane Society,
My family has been a foster home for dogs for your organization for about 8 years. We have also adopted 2 dogs, Rachel and Leo that we adore.
This year we decided we wanted to try hosting a fun event to raise money for CSHS. There seems to be a lot of talented people in the world so we thought perhaps we could get some of those people to share their talents. So we created the "Backyard Variety Show".
We were fortunate enough to have the use of a classroom in the World Learner School that day since the weather was "iffy". It also happened to be the last day of the PGA tournament in Chaska so we renamed our own PGA: "People Groovin for Animals".
We were dazzled by singers, piano playing, a dancer, a crazy science experiment and some great dog tricks.
We ended the show with everyone singing "Dogs Just Want to Have Fun" to the tune of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" (words re-written by Hannah Crannell).
We also had a bake sale during the show.
It was so much fun that people were talking about next year right after the show. And we raised $610.00 for Carver Scott Humane Society.
